President Tinubu To Swear In Justice Kekere-Ekun Today As New Chief Justice Of Nigeria

President Bola Tinubu will swear in Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun today, August 23, 2024, as the new Chief Justice Of Nigeria (CJN).
Justice Kekere-Ekun would be sworn in as the 23rd Chief Justice of Nigeria at the State House Council Chambers in Abuja.
Dada Olusegun, the Special Assistant to the President on Social Media, made it known in a post on Thursday via X that she would become the successor to Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, who retired from service on Thursday, August 22, after attaining the mandatory retirement age of seventy years.

Meanwhile, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, GCON, as he retired as Chief Justice of Nigeria after a successful public service career.
The retired Justice who served as Justice of the Court of Appeal in Kaduna, Enugu, and Lagos divisions before his elevation to the Supreme Court in 2011, was sworn in as Chief Justice of Nigeria in 2022 and had also served the nation in different capacities as a judicial officer.
Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, in a statement released on Thursday evening, made this known that the president commends the eminent jurist for his services to the nation.
He further stated that Tinubu noted Justice Ariwoola impactful leadership of the judiciary and his efforts in enriching Nigerian jurisprudence, as well as in strengthening the threads of the law.
