“June 12 Protest: Heavy Police Presence as Lagos Activists Rally Over Economy, Insecurity”
A significant police presence was seen at the Ikeja underbridge in Lagos on Thursday as protesters began to gather to mark June 12, Nigeria’s Democracy Day.
Security operatives, including personnel from the Nigeria Police Force’s Area F Division, were stationed in and around the area in anticipation of civil unrest as the protest loomed.

The demonstrators, consisting of civil society groups and pro-democracy advocates, converged to express their discontent with the worsening economic hardship and rising insecurity across the country under President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
