Enugu State Government Cracks Down on Kidnapping, Demolishes Notorious Hideout

In a bold move to tackle kidnapping and violent crime, the Enugu State government demolished a twin semi-detached bungalow allegedly used by kidnappers. Located at Nokpa near Alulu, Nike in Enugu East Local Government, the buildings were reportedly used to house kidnap victims pending ransom payment ¹.
The demolition was carried out in line with Section 315 (Second Amendment) of the Criminal Code Law, Cap 30, Laws of Enugu State. Chairman of the Enugu Capital Territory Development Authority, Uche Anya, emphasized Governor Peter Mbah’s commitment to eradicating kidnappers and violent criminals.
Anya revealed that on September 27, a gang of hardened criminals abducted Chibuoke Charles and Emma Okeke, demanding N40m ransom. However, security agencies tracked the gang, and a police crack squad overpowered and arrested them, recovering three automatic rifles, fetish objects, and hard drugs.
