Osun APC Deploys 6,000 Members for Grassroots Mobilization Ahead of 2026

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State has mobilized 6,000 members across the state’s 30 local government areas to strengthen grassroots support ahead of the 2026 governorship election.

Operating under the Osun Progressives People’s Forum (OPPF), the group held a prayer session on Friday at the Tinubu/Shettima campaign office. The event was attended by prominent party figures, including State Chairman Tajudeen Lawal, former Speaker Timothy Owoeye, and other APC leaders.

Coordinator of the group, Remi Abass, explained the initiative’s purpose: “The reason for the creation of the group is to galvanize the party ahead of the election. We discovered that after we lost the 2022 gubernatorial election, our members were busy apportioning blame, but we must rise past that if we want to win subsequent elections. We have deployed 6,000 members to our grassroots across the state to canvass for the party and win at least one soul into our fold before the 2026 governorship election.”

Former Speaker Timothy Owoeye expressed confidence in the party’s readiness to reclaim power: “In 2026, we are going to unseat PDP as a party and Senator Ademola Adeleke as the governor. We are going to unseat all of them in 2026 and 2027, looking at the level of our preparedness.”

During a sermon, Muslim cleric Uztas Ibrahim Akeusola urged unity among APC members, emphasizing the importance of collaboration: “You must jettison in-fighting, love your party, and rally support for it. Both members and leaders must work in unison, and your journey back to power would be seamless.”
