Kwara First Lady Advocates Support for Girls’ Education, Students with Disabilities

 

The First Lady of Kwara State, Professor Olufolake AbdulRazaq, has called for increased support for girls’ education, students with disabilities, and the provision of adaptive learning tools in the state.

Professor AbdulRazaq made the appeal during the distribution of free educational materials to about 700 students across 14 public schools in Ilorin South Local Government Area. The event took place at Government Secondary School, Tanke, Ilorin.

Represented by the State Commissioner for Solid Minerals Development, Dr. Afeez Alabi, the First Lady reaffirmed her commitment to making education accessible to every child in Kwara State.

She also commended the collaboration between the state government and a non-governmental organization in improving educational services for adolescent girls.

The Principal of Government Day Senior Secondary School, Tanke, Mrs. Kubura Olumo, expressed appreciation to the First Lady for her generosity and intervention. She noted that the initiative aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in the areas of promoting quality education and gender equality.

The educational materials distributed included school bags, exercise books, mathematical sets, and new school uniforms.
