NSCDC Decorates 207 Promoted Officers In Edo
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Edo Command, has decorated 207 newlyp romoted senior officers in the command with their new ranks on Tuesday.
The state Commandant of the Corps, Mr Gbenga Agun, while decorating the officers in Benin, said that the new rank was a call to higher responsibilities, dedication, efficiency and effectiveness.
“You must gird your loins to justify the responsibilities given to you. Be available at all times to fly the flag of the corps
“The popular saying of ‘to him more is given, much is expected’ comes to play here.
“Be motivated by your achievements; get affiliated with the challenges of your new rank, departmental members.
“Gain trust of your colleagues, and motivate yourself to fulfilling the basic needs of realising your potential of reaching the peak of your personal growth and experiences,” he said.
Agun, said that the corps was taking a more positive outlook of employees, hence the belief in their skills and professionalism.
“Do not expect to be forced to achieve organisational objectives, efforts in work should be seen as natural between work and play.
“Much is expected of you and you must deliver.
“To those awaiting promotion, be more zealous, productive, don’t forget that performance evaluation on the job is part of the criteria for promotion,” he said.
The commandant also noted that the corps is watching and would definitely reward as and when due.
Nelson Adetan, a Deputy Commandant, while speaking on behalf of the promoted officers, said that the gesture would be reciprocated with more dedication and hard work, commending the corps for finding them worthy of the elevation.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) the promoted officers include six Deputy Commandants, three Assistant Commandants, nine Chief Superintendents and 92 Superintendents.
Others are 25 Deputy Superintendents, 35 Assistant Superintendents I, and 37 Assistant Superintendents II. (NAN)
