Drama as Church Calls Off Wedding Over Bride’s Refusal to Spend the Night at Pastor’s Residence

In a surprising turn of events, an Assemblies of God Church located in Okpu 2, Aba, Abia State, has cancelled a wedding after the bride refused to spend the night at the pastor’s residence, a stipulation set by the church.

Reports indicate that the church’s policy requires brides to stay overnight at the home of the officiating pastor and receive counseling from the pastor’s wife prior to the wedding.

Additionally, the church mandates that brides complete a pregnancy test before the ceremony.

Promise Uzoma Okoro, a church elder, confirmed that the bride’s unwillingness to adhere to the overnight stay policy led to the last-minute cancellation of the wedding.
