NDLEA Official, Neighbour Electrocuted in Rivers State Community

Two people, including an official of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), were electrocuted on Monday following an electrical spark that triggered a fire in Okrika, Okrika Local Government Area of Rivers State.
According to reports, the incident occurred in the early hours of the day when power was restored to the area after an outage, resulting in a sudden electrical spark.
A local resident, who witnessed the event and spoke on condition of anonymity, said the NDLEA official was electrocuted while attempting to remove the fuse in his apartment.
“There was no power in the area for some time. When it was restored early this morning, a spark occurred in one of the houses, which led to a fire,” the source said.
“The NDLEA officer, apparently alarmed by the fire, tried to remove the fuse in his house and was electrocuted.
His neighbour also died from electrocution in his own room.”
The incident reportedly caused panic among residents, with some fleeing the area out of fear.
