
A fatal road accident claimed two lives earlier today in Ojodu, Kogi State, while several others were left critically injured.
According to eyewitness accounts, the crash occurred when a commercial vehicle collided with a motorcycle at high speed along the busy Ojodu–Lokoja highway. The collision was reportedly so intense that both victims died instantly, and many others sustained serious injuries.
Residents and passersby quickly responded to the scene, assisting the victims before the arrival of personnel from the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC). The FRSC officers later evacuated the deceased and took the injured to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment.
Authorities have begun investigating the incident, with initial findings pointing to overspeeding and reckless driving as likely causes.
The tragedy has once again sparked public concern over the growing rate of road accidents and the need for stricter enforcement of traffic safety regulations across Kogi State.
