Guest Dies After Collapsing at Niger Government

A man identified as Gregory has died after collapsing at one of the lodges within the Niger State Government House in Minna, the state capital.

According to the Niger State Police Command, Gregory had gone to visit the chairman of the Niger Food Security Systems and Logistics Company Limited, Sammy Adigun, when the incident occurred. He reportedly became ill upon learning that his host was unavailable.

Despite efforts to save him, Gregory passed away before medical personnel from the IBB Specialist Hospital in Minna could arrive.

Confirming the incident on Monday, police spokesperson Wasiu Abiodun said the event occurred around 9:30 p.m. on Friday, August 2, within the Government House premises.

Abiodun stated that officers from the GRA Division responded promptly and rushed Gregory to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His body has been deposited at the hospital’s mortuary for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
