Teen Arrested for Fatally Stabbing Friend After Dispute in Gombe

A 19-year-old, Mustapha Adamu, has been arrested by the Gombe State Police Command for fatally stabbing his friend, Yahuza Labaran, following a heated altercation on a farm.
The incident occurred on Monday in Kulani Chessi village, located in Balanga Local Government Area of the state.
According to reports, the two friends were working on a farm when a disagreement broke out around 3 p.m. The reason for the quarrel remains unclear. In the midst of the argument, Adamu reportedly pulled out a knife and stabbed 20-year-old Labaran in the shoulder, inflicting severe injuries.
Labaran was immediately rushed to the Balanga General Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival by a medical doctor.

Gombe State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Buhari Abdullahi, confirmed the incident during a phone interview. He said the command received the report on Tuesday and swiftly apprehended the suspect.
“During interrogation, Adamu admitted to stabbing his friend, stating that he acted in a moment of anger and did not intend to kill him,” Abdullahi said, adding that investigations are ongoing and the suspect will be charged to court soon.
