Temitope Solaja Opens Up on Struggles After Moving to the U.S.

Nollywood actress Temitope Solaja, fondly known as Aruga, has opened up about the emotional challenges she faced after relocating to the United States.
Speaking on Biola Bayo’s podcast, Aruga revealed that she endured various forms of attacks and harsh speculation, including rumours that she was pregnant and had moved abroad just to give birth.
The actress confessed that the transition was emotionally taxing and filled with moments of self-doubt and confusion about her decision to start afresh in a foreign land. However, she credited fellow actor Lateef Adedimeji for standing by her during the trying period. According to her, his prayers and words of encouragement—offered while he was on pilgrimage in Mecca—helped her stay strong and focused.
Reflecting on her early inspirations, Aruga revealed that veteran actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, was her first celebrity crush, inspired by his role in the iconic movie Owo Blow.
She also expressed her deep passion for acting, stating that her love for the craft goes far beyond the desire for fame. “If acting were a profession like being a doctor, I would still choose it. It’s my calling,” she said.

Now back on the scene, Aruga had a heartfelt message for her fans: “You’ve all been asking me to return, and I’m back. I may not have it all figured out, but I’ll keep doing my best. When I release my movie, please support it with love. And please, for God’s sake—I don’t know how to dance,” she added with a smile.
