“They Killed My Twins, Fed Them to Dogs” — Katsina Woman Shares Horrific Bandit Attack Story

In a chilling account that underscores the rising brutality of armed banditry in Northern Nigeria, a woman from Katsina State has narrated the horrifying ordeal she experienced in captivity.

Speaking exclusively to Sahara Reporters, the traumatized woman revealed how her twin babies were murdered by her abductors and their lifeless bodies thrown to dogs to feast on. She described her escape from the kidnappers’ den as nothing short of a miracle.

According to her, the bandits who abducted her from her village subjected her and others to inhumane conditions. Amid her grief, she shared that her babies were killed simply because they cried too much and posed a threat to the captors’ concealment in the forest.

“I watched helplessly as they threw my twin babies to the dogs. I begged, I cried, but they showed no mercy,” she said tearfully.

The disturbing incident adds to the growing list of atrocities committed by criminal gangs in the region, where insecurity continues to claim innocent lives, displace communities, and devastate families.

Human rights advocates and civil society groups have renewed calls on the Nigerian government to step up efforts in tackling the worsening security crisis in Katsina and other affected states.
