“TikToker Peller Apologizes After Calling Runtown an ‘Up-and-Coming Artist’”
Popular TikToker Peller has issued a public apology after referring to Afrobeats star Runtown as an “up-and-coming artist” during a recent livestream.
His remark sparked backlash across social media, with many criticizing his apparent lack of awareness of Runtown’s established career in the music industry.
In a follow-up livestream with Elizabeth Amoudu, Peller clarified that he was aware of Runtown’s music but was “too young” to fully appreciate it during its peak years.

“When I was listening to Runtown’s music that time, I was too young to even use a phone.
“Peller never come town when Runtown dey Runtown. Please, forgive the poor boy. Let him breathe. God won’t shame us. I’m sorry, my brothers and sisters.”
His apology has since gone viral, with social media users debating whether his explanation was valid or simply a clever way to defuse the controversy.
