Queen Mercy Explains Why She Unfollowed Her Husband Amid Marital Crisis Rumors
Former Big Brother Naija housemate Queen Mercy Atang has addressed the rumors surrounding her marriage after she unfollowed her husband, David Oyekanmi, on Instagram.
The reality TV star, who tied the knot with Oyekanmi in March 2024, sparked speculation of trouble in paradise when she deleted their wedding photos and unfollowed him on social media just months after the ceremony.
In a recently shared viral video, Queen Mercy explained that the move was a deliberate step to protect her relationship, not a sign of marital issues.
“I was trying to take my marriage off social media because my husband’s handle is out there, with a lot of ladies sliding into his DMs with both positive and negative messages,” she said.
“I just want to protect my marriage and reduce some of the things I put out there.”
