Tinubu mourns elder statesman Isyaku Ibrahim
President Bola Tinubu has expressed grief over the passing of Alhaji Isyaku Ibrahim, a renowned businessman, politician, and sports promoter, who died on Saturday in Abuja at the age of 88.
Alhaji Ibrahim, a native of Wamba Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, was a prominent figure in Nigeria’s political and business landscape.
He was a key chieftain of the defunct National Party of Nigeria (NPN) during the Second Republic and later played a role in the formation of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in 1998.
In a statement issued on Sunday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu described Ibrahim as a visionary leader whose contributions spanned politics, business, and community service.
Beyond politics, the late statesman was also passionate about sports and founded the Jos-based Mighty Jets Football Club, which became a household name for decades.
