Tinubu Orders Withdrawal of Police Officers From VIP Escorts

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed the immediate withdrawal of police officers attached to Very Important Persons (VIPs) across the country.

The directive, announced on Sunday through a statement by his spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, followed a high-level security meeting held at the Presidential Villa with service chiefs and the Director-General of the Department of State Services.

According to the president, police personnel previously assigned to VIPs will be redeployed to strengthen policing duties nationwide, especially in underserved and remote communities where police presence is sparse.
