Top Boko Haram Commander Killed in Major Army Raid

In a well-coordinated strike in the early hours of Monday, June 9, 2025, troops of Operation Hadin Kai launched a powerful joint air and ground offensive against Boko Haram and ISWAP strongholds in Nzalgana, Gujba LGA of Yobe State, and the notorious Tumbuktu Triangle.

The precision-led assault inflicted heavy casualties on the terrorists, including the elimination of several top commanders. Notably, Ameer Malam Jidda—one of Boko Haram’s most feared leaders and operational head in Ngorgore and Malumti villages—was confirmed dead in the attack.

In a related development, troops conducting follow-up operations in Abadam, Borno State, recovered more bodies of insurgents and seized additional weapons. These findings are tied to the recent military success in Mallamfatori.

Military sources say operations are still underway, with forces maintaining strong pressure on remaining terrorist elements. The Nigerian Armed Forces reaffirmed their commitment to defeating insurgency and restoring peace across the Northeast.
