
Tragedy on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway: 10 Feared Dead in Oyo Crash
At least 10 people are feared dead following a fatal road accident that occurred Tuesday morning along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in Oyo State.
The crash reportedly involved three Nissan Micra taxi cabs and three articulated trucks, all travelling from the Iwo Road axis before the incident. Eyewitnesses described a chaotic scene, with bodies badly mutilated and rescue workers battling to pull victims from the wreckage.

Emergency response teams, including operatives of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Nigeria Police, and Amotekun Corps, swiftly arrived at the scene.
Confirming the incident, the FRSC Sector Commander in Oyo State, Rosemary Alo, stated that seven vehicles were involved in the crash. She confirmed that four people were confirmed dead, while one injured victim was receiving treatment.
She emphasized the need for drivers to exercise greater caution on the roads.
According to Alo, “The injured were rescued by officers from Sanyo Police Station, and the deceased have been taken to Adeoyo morgue, Ring Road, Ibadan. One of the corpses was released to a relative with approval from the Sanyo Divisional Police Officer.”
The Sanyo Police Traffic Officer, Oluwole Adesina, has taken over the investigation and custody of the accidented vehicles.
