Tragedy Strikes as Baby Dies in Fatal Accident at Ntigha Junction, Abia State
A heart-wrenching tragedy occurred at the Isiala Ngwa–Ntigha Junction in Abia State, as a fatal accident claimed the life of an innocent baby.
According to eyewitnesses, the incident happened in the early hours of Tuesday when a speeding vehicle lost control and rammed into a tricycle carrying a woman and her child. The impact of the crash was so severe that the baby reportedly died on the spot, while the mother sustained serious injuries.
Residents of the area described the scene as devastating, calling for urgent action from the government to address the growing number of accidents at the busy junction, which they say has become a death trap.
Local authorities and emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene to evacuate the victims and restore order. The injured woman was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The Abia State Police Command is yet to issue an official statement, but investigations into the incident are said to be ongoing.
