Troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA (OPFY) ambushed and killed scores of terrorists in Shinkafi LGA of Zamfara State on August 31, 2025.
FCNN gathered that the operation was based on credible intelligence about terrorists’ movement in the area.
The terrorists attempted to use kidnapped victims as human shields, but the troops responded and neutralized some of the terrorists, while others fled with gunshot wounds.
The troops rescued 9 kidnapped victims, including 3 adult females and 6 underage children, who were abducted from Garin Bature village in Sabon Birni LGA of Sokoto State.However, the victims were evacuated to the General Hospital Shinkafi for medical attention.
Recovered Items are:1 AK-47 rifle with 2 magazines containing 20 rounds of ammunition,1 motorcycle,3 mobile phones, and1 pair of desert camouflage uniform.

The OPFY reassured residents of North-West zone and parts of North-Central of its determination to sustain aggressive operations to stamp out terrorism and banditry.
The officials of Shinkafi LGA promised to ensure that the victims are reunited with their families soon.
