Troops Crush ISWAP Fighters, Burst Boko Haram Fuel Syndicate in Borno Onslaught

In a sweeping counter-insurgency offensive, troops of Operation Hadin Kai have dealt a significant blow to terrorist networks in Borno State, neutralising seven ISWAP fighters, dismantling insurgent hideouts in Konduga, and busting a fuel smuggling ring in Maiduguri supplying Boko Haram, PRNigeria reports.
The coordinated operations, conducted on May 5, were aimed at disrupting terrorist logistics and severing links with civilian collaborators aiding insurgent activities in northeast Nigeria, according to intelligence sources who spoke to Zagazola Makama.
In Konduga Local Government Area, soldiers from the 7 Division Garrison, reinforced by the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) and hybrid forces, stormed suspected terrorist enclaves in Ajilari Cross, Bimi, Duari, Caterpillar Jeria, Gongolori, Isari, and Kartari villages during a clearance operation.
Fierce fighting erupted in Sumun village where troops engaged ISWAP elements in a gun battle, killing seven terrorists. Weapons recovered at the scene included three AK-47 rifles, three magazines, two hand grenades, five cutlasses, and a bow and arrow. Troops reported no further enemy contact after the clash.
In a separate incident in Baga, Kukawa Local Government Area, soldiers from Sector 3 of the Multi-National Joint Task Force and Operation Hadin Kai arrested .
