Troops Smash Kidnap Plot in Taraba State.

Troops of the 6 Brigade Nigerian Army and Sector 3 of Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS) successfully thwarted a kidnapping attempt and rescued three individuals unharmed in Chanchanji village, Takum Local Government Area, Taraba State.

The incident took place during a routine patrol and picketing operation along the Takum–Chanchangi Road. As the troops approached the Uko community axis, they encountered suspected armed bandits who had already abducted three travelers.

According to a statement by Captain Olubodunde Oni, Acting Assistant Director of Army Public Relations for the 6 Brigade, the kidnappers fled into the nearby forest upon spotting the troops, abandoning their captives.
