Two Farmers Killed by Suspected Herdsmen in Gwer West

Two farmers were killed by suspected herder militia in Gwer West Local Government Area of Benue State.

The victims, identified as Monday Orlovuu and his friend, were reportedly attacked while working on their farm at Goh community, about four kilometres away from Naka, the council headquarters.

FCNN learnt that the incident happened shortly after the Chairman of Gwer West Local Government Council had visited Goh to assess farmlands allegedly destroyed by herders’ cattle.

The killing has heightened tension in the area, with residents expressing fears over increasing attacks on farming communities.

Authorities are yet to issue an official statement on the incident as at the time of filing this report.
