Two Government -Owned BRT Buses Collide In Lagos, Injuring Multiple passengers

A late-night collision between two government-owned Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) buses occurred at Iyana Ipaja, inward Pleasure, in Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos State. The accident took place around 11:39 p.m. on Tuesday. Nosa Okunbor, the Head of the Public Affairs Unit at the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), confirmed the incident and explained that one of the BRT buses was trying to avoid hitting a commercial motorcyclist who was illegally using the BRT corridor. This maneuver led to a collision with an oncoming BRT bus.
LASEMA responded to distress calls received via their toll-free emergency lines and activated their Dolphin Response Team from the Igando Base. Upon arrival, the response team discovered the accident involved two BRT buses. Although there were no fatalities, passengers on both buses sustained various degrees of injuries and were transported to the nearest hospital before the agency’s response team arrived on the scene.
