Ibom Air Passenger Who Allegedly Assaulted Crew Remanded in Kirikiri

Comfort Emmanson, a passenger accused of assaulting flight crew and security officials on an Uyo–Lagos Ibom Air flight, has been charged to court and remanded at the Kirikiri Correctional Facility.
Tunde Moshood, Special Adviser on Media and Communications to the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, confirmed the development in a post on X on Monday, urging the flying public to exercise caution amid the rising incidence of unruly passenger behaviour.
“The unruly passenger on the Uyo–Lagos-bound Ibom Air flight, Miss Comfort Emmanson, has been charged to court and is now cooling off in Kirikiri,” Moshood wrote.
Viral videos showed Emmanson angrily confronting flight attendants and airport security personnel. According to Ibom Air, the incident began shortly before take-off in Uyo when she refused to switch off her mobile phone as required by safety regulations. A fellow passenger eventually turned the phone off, prompting an angry outburst from her.
Upon arrival in Lagos, she reportedly confronted and physically attacked the purser who had earlier issued the instruction.
