Two Nigerians jails Over Attempt To Traffic Marijuana To UK
No fewer than two Nigerians, identified as Nnamani Sunday and Jude Onah, have been sentenced to prison for attempting to traffic Cannabis Sativa, commonly known as marijuana, to the United Kingdom.
FCNN gathered that Nnamani Sunday one of the victims received a four-year jail term for attempting to export 800 grams of the substance, while 52-year-old Jude Onah was sentenced to one and a half years for trafficking 7.9 kilograms of the drug.Jude Onah pleaded guilty to three charges: unlawful importation, trafficking, and possession of the prohibited substance.
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) disclosed that Onah was arrested in July 2024 at a checkpoint in Badagry, Lagos State, while attempting to smuggle the drug into Nigeria from a neighboring country using a Sienna vehicle.
The NDLEA prosecutor, Aondofa Korijor, informed the court that Onah’s actions violated Sections 11(a), 11(b), and 19 of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency Act, Cap N30, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004. Upon being arraigned, Onah admit
