Bauchi CP Mourns Tragic Death of DPO and Two Friends in Pre-Wedding Crash

The Bauchi State Police Command is in mourning following the tragic death of 42-year-old Divisional Police Officer of the Railway Division, SP Mustapha Garba, who was killed in a car crash less than an hour before his wedding Fatiha.
According to the state police spokesperson, SP Mohammed Wakil, the fatal accident occurred around 11:30 a.m. on Saturday in the Bargar Tsamiya area of Toro Local Government Area. Garba, who was driving a Mercedes-Benz with three friends onboard, was en route from Gumau to Magama Gumau for his wedding when the incident occurred.
Wakil explained that the vehicle hit a pothole, lost control, veered into the opposite lane, and collided with a stationary Opel Astra before somersaulting into the bush.
One of the deceased was identified as 45-year-old Mr. Shaaibu Cheski, a resident of Gumau. Both he and Garba were pronounced dead at the Toro General Hospital. Two other passengers sustained injuries and are currently receiving medical attention.
In an official statement, the police command confirmed the tragic details, noting that the DPO was accompanied by three friends in the vehicle. It added that the Commissioner of Police, CP Auwal Sani-Omolori, upon receiving the news, directed immediate evacuation of the victims to the hospital.
“Sadly, a medical doctor confirmed the groom and two others dead. Their bodies have been handed over to their families for burial,” the statement read.
CP Sani-Omolori extended heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased and prayed for strength and comfort during this difficult time.
