The incident, which occurred on Saturday, June 7, 2025, was discovered by residents in an undeveloped plot of land near the New Market area.

A source who spoke to reporters on condition of anonymity said the man was found dangling from a rope tied around his neck, suggesting a possible suicide.

Alarmed by the sight, residents immediately alerted the police. Law enforcement officers, along with community leaders and local government health officials, arrived at the scene to recover the body.

“Upon arrival, they discovered the body of an unidentified, unclothed male adult hanging from a tree,” the source said. “The police, in collaboration with health officials and community leaders, evacuated the body.”

A senior police officer confirmed that the incident had been reported to the Ogun State Police Command, but declined to provide further details, citing lack of authorization.
