OGUN HEADMASTER ARRESTED FOR ALLEGEDLY ASSAULTING PUPIL

Government Vows Swift Justice, Rescues Another Child from Abusive Father

The Ogun State Government has confirmed the arrest of Ashafa Afelaja, the headmaster of a private school in Eyin Ogbe, Igode, near Ogijo, over allegations of sexually assaulting a female pupil.

Authorities took Afelaja into custody after a concerned citizen reported the incident. Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Adijat Adeleye, disclosed this in a statement on Monday, assuring that both the victim and her mother are receiving the necessary medical and psychological support.

“The ministry is working closely with law enforcement to ensure swift justice. We urge the public to remain vigilant and report cases of abuse,” Adeleye stated.

In a separate case, the ministry also intervened in Igboko, Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area, where a four-year-old boy was reportedly brutalized by his father. The child has been placed under government protection and is receiving medical care.

The alleged perpetrator is in police custody, with legal proceedings underway.

The Ogun State Government reiterated its zero-tolerance stance on child abuse and gender-based violence, urging residents to support efforts to protect vulnerable individuals.
