Wike Distributes 10,000 Bags of Rice

Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has distributed 10,000 bags of 25kg rice to representatives of various Muslim religious bodies, associations, groups, and schools for individuals with special needs.

During the distribution event held in Gwagwalada, Abuja, Nyesom Wike, Minister of FCT, represented by his Chief of Staff, Chidi Amadi, underscored the importance of generosity, particularly during Ramadan—a period characterized by fasting, prayer, and charitable giving.

Amadi highlighted that this initiative reflects Wike’s commitment to supporting both religious communities and those in need within the FCT.

He urged religious leaders to ensure that the rice reaches the most vulnerable individuals.

“Any opportunity to give is an opportunity to express gratitude to God Almighty. Ramadan is a sacred time for our Muslim brothers, and the Honorable Minister recognizes the critical role of almsgiving during this season,” Amadi stated.

He added, “The Minister has provided over 10,000 bags of rice to various Muslim leaders, associations, and groups, ensuring that the less privileged have something to break their fast with. I encourage all beneficiaries to distribute the items responsibly and to focus on those who are genuinely in need.”
