“You’re Not Heaven’s Gatekeepers” – Johnny Drille

Popular Nigerian singer Johnny Drille has shared a heartfelt message addressing a certain group within the Christian community who, according to him, are more interested in judging others than showing them the love of God.

In a post that has since gone viral, Drille expressed his dismay over how some self-proclaimed Christians are quick to condemn people they know nothing about including him. He criticized the tendency of these individuals to act as spiritual gatekeepers, deciding who is “holy enough,” instead of drawing others closer to God through love and understanding.

“They’d rather push people away than draw them to God,” Drille wrote. “Assigning themselves the role of deciding who is and isn’t holy enough. It’s sad, and I believe it’s not the heart of God.”

He went on to remind his critics that no human will be stationed at heaven’s gates when the final judgment comes. According to him, every individual will stand before God alone, accountable for their own life not someone else’s.

“When it’s all said and done, you won’t be manning heaven’s gates. We will each stand before the Father, each to their own. Run your own race in peace, and leave me alone.”

Johnny Drille’s statement has sparked a wave of reactions online, with many applauding his boldness and echoing the need for more empathy and less condemnation within faith communities.
