ZAMFARA: GOVERNOR SYMPATHIZES WITH FLOOD VICTIMS IN GUMMI, ASSURES IMMEDIATE SUPPORT

Following the recent destruction caused by flood in Zamfara communities. The Governor of Zamfara, Governor Dauda Lawal has sympathized with victims affected by the in Gummi local government area of the State.
FUSION CHRONICLES NIGERIA NEWSPAPER gathered that there was a heavy rainfall on Friday which caused flooding in some areas of the Gummi local government area, destroying hundreds of properties.
This was contained in a statement made Ava to journalists in Gusau the Zamfara state capital on Saturday by his spokesperson, Sulaiman Bala Idris on the 18th of August 2024.
The statement read in part: “I received sad news about the flooding in some parts of the Gummi local government area. This is genuinely distressing, and my thoughts are with everyone affected.
“I have been in contact with the relevant authorities, leaders, and elders in the local government since the unfortunate incident.
“I immediately sent a delegation from the Zamfara State Government to the local government to assess the situation and provide immediate relief support to the victims.
“My government is committed to taking all necessary measures to prevent future occurrences of such sad incidents. All hands will be on deck to ensure that victims of the flooding receive the necessary support they may require.”
