Zenith Bank marks 35th anniversary, honours pioneer customers and staff

Zenith Bank Plc has celebrated its 35th anniversary in Lagos with a special event recognising pioneer customers and long-serving employees for their contributions to the institution’s growth.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the bank said the milestone brought together stakeholders, partners, staff, and friends to reflect on more than three decades of excellence, innovation, and reliability in Nigeria’s banking sector.
Established in May 1990, Zenith Bank has evolved from modest beginnings into one of Africa’s leading financial institutions, widely respected for its stability, innovation, and strong customer service culture.
Speaking at the event, the Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Adaora Umeoji, reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to empowering individuals and businesses through innovative financial solutions.
“Our success has been built on the trust of our customers and the dedication of our staff. Today, we not only celebrate 35 years of growth and excellence but also the people who made this possible,” she said.
Founder and Chairman, Mr. Jim Ovia, also lauded the bank’s enduring impact and reputation, while commending the efforts that have sustained its leadership over the years.
The celebration was attended by several high-profile dignitaries, including Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, business magnate Aliko Dangote, and the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi.
