Governor Fubara Set to Join APC

Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara is preparing to shift from the opposition PDP to the ruling APC after crucial discussions with President Bola Tinubu in London.

Legal sources reveal that Fubara, who was suspended from office on March 18, 2025, is willing to make significant political concessions to facilitate an expedited return to his post.

This defection is seen as a strategic move to enhance President Tinubu’s influence in Rivers State. Insiders indicate that Fubara is likely to accept compromises that could accelerate the resolution of his suspension.

This development comes after weeks of speculation regarding Fubara’s political future and ongoing tensions with his former mentor, Nyesom Wike, who currently serves as the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory.

While the details of the agreement remain undisclosed, the talks also addressed the complex dynamic between Fubara and Wike, who notably did not participate in the meeting.
