Nigeria police vehicle collided with private vehicle in Niger state

 

The incident took place around 9:30 PM when armed miscreants, wielding stones and other dangerous weapons, targeted one of the “Operation Flush” patrol vehicles. A Nigerian Police vehicle subsequently crashed into a residential building in the Angwan-Kaje area of Maitumbi, the capital of Niger State, on Monday evening following the attack by the thugs.

The incident occurred around 9:30pm when miscreants, armed with stones and other dangerous weapons, launched an assault on one of the “Operation Flush” patrol vehicles.

 

The Niger State Police Public Relations Officer Wasiu Abiodun told SaharaReporters that the driver, in an attempt to escape the attack, lost control of the vehicle and crashed it into a nearby residential property, causing major damage. 

Some of the police team members sustained minor injuries during the incident.

Reinforcements were dispatched to the area, restoring order, and the injured officers were taken to a hospital for treatment. The vehicle was also removed to Maitumbi Division for further action. 

“The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Maitumbi is handling the investigation and efforts are underway to arrest the miscreants who attacked the police officers while on duty,” Abiodun added.

“On 18/11/2024 at about 9.30pm while responding to a distress call around Angwan-kaje area of Maitumbi, one of the operation flush patrol vehicles was attacked by some miscreants with stones and other dangerous weapons within the area.“Unfortunately in the process of trying to manoeuvre the vehicle out of the scene by the driver, he lost control and ran the vehicle into a residential building causing major damages and some of the team members sustained minor injuries.”
