Auto crash leaves seven passengers injured in Yobe

Seven passengers were injured on Friday in a road traffic crash involving an 18-seater bus along the Damaturu–Maiduguri highway in Yobe State.

The incident was reportedly caused by a tyre burst, which led to the vehicle crashing.

Yobe Emergency Medical Ambulance Services, YEMABUS, confirmed the development in a statement issued by its Information and Public Relations Officer, Ibrahim Waziri, and made available to newsmen in Damaturu.

According to the statement, a rescue team was dispatched immediately after a distress call was received.

“The YEMABUS crew worked tirelessly to rescue the victims and transported them to the Yobe State University Teaching Hospital, Damaturu, for urgent medical attention. We are committed to providing emergency medical services to those in need, and we urge everyone to prioritise road safety and emergency preparedness,” the statement said.

All injured passengers are currently receiving treatment.
