Benue PDP Strategise Ahead of 2027

The Benue State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has held a strategic meeting involving the State Working Committee (SWC) and key stakeholders, as the party intensifies preparations for the 2027 general elections.

The meeting, which took place at the party’s secretariat in Makurdi, brought together influential figures including members of the G14 led by Dr. Laha Dzever and the G9 headed by elder Elijah Amali. The gathering featured in-depth discussions on critical political issues affecting the party and the state.

A major highlight of the session was the party’s open appreciation of Sir Gbenga Olawepo-Hassim, a potential presidential aspirant, for his consistent and quiet contributions to the PDP over the past year.

The party hailed his efforts in strengthening the party’s structures, describing them as a clear reflection of his loyalty and vision for a better Nigeria.

Addressing the stakeholders, the State Chairman of the PDP, Rt. Hon. Ezekiel Adaji, provided updates on national developments within the party. He revealed that the leadership crisis surrounding the office of the National Secretary had been resolved, paving the way for stability ahead of the PDP National Convention scheduled for November 2025.

The party reaffirmed its commitment to internal unity, progressive planning, and active engagement as it works towards reclaiming its position at both state and national levels.

“The deliberations were fruitful, and the unity demonstrated today reaffirms our collective resolve to deliver for the people of Benue and Nigeria,” said Tim Nyor, the PDP State Publicity Secretary.
