Bill Seeks For Creation of Seats for Women

Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) and the League of Women Voters of Nigeria (NILOWV) have called on civil society organizations to support women in ensuring the passage of the bill seeking to create 74 special seats for women in Nigeria’s federal parliament.
They emphasized that this initiative is crucial for improving women’s representation in governance.
This call was made at the flag-off campaign of Her Seat in Parliament and Governance, held at the Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution (IPCR) in Abuja on Thursday.
The Minister of Women Affairs, Hon. Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, has reaffirmed her unwavering support for Nigerian women.

Speaking at the flag-off campaign for 74 special seats for women in the Nigerian Federal Parliament, organized by NAWOJ and NILOWV, she applauded the initiative.
The Minister was ably represented by her SSA on Women and Community Relations, Princess Jumai Idonije.
