
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar on Tuesday paid a private visit to former military president, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (retd.), at his hilltop residence in Minna, Niger State.
The meeting reportedly started shortly after Atiku arrived in the early afternoon and was conducted behind closed doors, with no public access.
Sources close to the development said the visit was a strategic consultation on major national matters, especially in view of upcoming political activities.
The discussions were said to have focused on electoral reforms, including the ongoing conversation around the electronic transmission of election results. Other topics reportedly touched on recent tax policies as well as wider governance challenges facing the country.
About 40 minutes into the meeting, Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, also arrived at the residence and joined the private talks.
