Coffin Crushes Man to Death While Burying Best Friend in Limpopo

Ga-Kibi village in Senwabarwana, Limpopo, has been left in shock after a tragic accident claimed the life of a man during his best friend’s burial.

Witnesses said the man was among those lowering the coffin into the grave when it slipped from their grasp. In the chaos, he fell into the pit, and the heavy casket came crashing down on him, killing him instantly.

The devastating scene silenced mourners who moments earlier had been weeping for the first deceased.

The atmosphere turned to horror when the victim’s mother disclosed that her son and the friend he was burying had often joked they would “leave this world together.” That unsettling remark has now come true, leaving villagers shaken.

Local leaders and safety advocates have urged families to use proper burial equipment to avoid similar tragedies. “Funerals are already painful. No family should suffer such an unnecessary loss,” one safety official said.
