Fubara Makes First Public Appearance After UK Trip

Siminalayi Fubara, the suspended Governor of Rivers State, made his first public appearance following a two-week vacation in the United Kingdom by attending the Boys Brigade Metropolitan Battalion Council Nigeria’s special Thanksgiving Service for 2025.
His return to Port Harcourt on Saturday evening was marked by this significant event.
The Thanksgiving Service was held at St. Cyprian’s Church, Anglican Communion, and was presided over by Rt. Rev. Dr. Emmanuel Oko-Jaja.
According to a statement from Fubara’s media aide, Nelson Chukwudi, the service celebrated the successful religious camp activities of the Boys Brigade in the state.
A special prayer for Fubara, his family, and the peace of the state was one of the highlights of the occasion.
Fubara was accompanied by Amaopusenibo Fubara Hart and Dr. Tamunosisi Gogo-Jaja during the event.
Meanwhile, his return from the UK coincided with allegations from his former political mentor, Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory.
Wike accused Siminalayi Fubara, the suspended Governor of attempting to disrupt an empowerment program for women in Port Harcourt, organized by Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu.

This development could complicate ongoing efforts to reconcile the estranged political relationship between Wike and the Governor.
