Suspected herdsmen launched a deadly attack late Sunday night along the Otukpo-Adoka road in Benue State, killing a commercial vehicle driver and kidnapping all passengers on board.
The ambush occurred around 11 p.m. as the vehicle traveled from Abuja to Otukpo. Eyewitnesses reported that the gunmen opened fire upon sighting the vehicle, fatally striking the driver and causing the vehicle to swerve off the road into nearby bushes.

After the attack, the assailants abducted all passengers and left the vehicle at the scene. The driver, a native of Adoka, was confirmed dead and his body has been returned to his hometown.
Security forces have since arrived and launched a manhunt for the perpetrators.
