Hausa-Fulani Clash Turns Violent in Jigawa, Homes and Granaries Set Ablaze

A violent clash between Hausa and Fulani communities in Gidan Na Ruwa Fulani Settlement, Taura Local Government Area of Jigawa State, led to the destruction of homes and granaries on Sunday night.
According to reports, the conflict erupted after two men from Zangon Maje Village, Musa Hussaini and Shanu Sule, were attacked and had their motorcycle stolen. In response, enraged youths from their village mobilized for retaliation, storming the settlement and setting properties ablaze.
Jigawa State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Shi’isu Adam, confirmed the incident in a statement on Monday night. He disclosed that the police swiftly intervened, restoring order and arresting five suspects linked to the unrest.

Adam emphasized that security forces have intensified patrols to prevent further escalations. He also urged citizens to report grievances to authorities rather than resorting to violence, warning that anyone caught instigating chaos would face severe consequences.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing as authorities work to bring those responsible to justice.
