How Attempted Break-in at VP Shettima’s Residence Foiled

An attempt to break into the Maiduguri residence of Vice President Kashim Shettima was repelled by security operatives early on Wednesday.

The suspect, identified as Musa Ibrahim, tried to breach the perimeter fence at around 5:30 a.m. through the back route by the Gadabul River.

Security operatives apprehended the suspect, shot him in the leg when he tried to escape, and took him to the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital.

The suspect, a married father, is reportedly a resident of either Meri or Maduganari area in Maiduguri.

The Borno State Police Command has not yet commented on the incident.
