Amotekun Corps the Southwest Security Network, codenamed has pledge its commitment to prevent bandits and other terrorist groups from invading the Southwest region.
The Chairman of the Southwest Amotekun Corps and Commander of Ondo Amotekun, Akogun Adetunji Adeleye, speaking in Akure while parading 21 suspects arrested for crimes including kidnapping, attempted murder, and theft, declared that the region would not serve as a hidden place for criminals.
He emphasised that the corps has deployed a strategic approach to curb the incursion of terrorists, revealing the introduction of “Amot Rangers” as part of a proactive security measure.
“The Amot Rangers were not set up as an emergency response; we have established a clear modus operandi to prevent terrorist infiltration,” he said.
Adeleye further revealed that Amotekun operatives successfully foiled 15 kidnapping attempts across the state in the past month, attributing the successes to timely interventions and actionable intelligence.
However, the commander also advised travelers to prioritize their safety by boarding vehicles from designated motor parks and using branded vehicles to avoid falling victim to criminal activities.
