Kaduna governor applauds Southern Kaduna indigenes for allowing peace to prevail

The governor of Kaduna State, Governor Uba Sani, has applauded the people of Southern Kaduna for ensuring peace prevails in the region, allowing for unhindered development.

Uba Sani made this remark at the 2nd edition of the Southern Kaduna Festival, which was held at Kafanchan on Saturday.

According to Uba Sani: “I want to express my gratitude to the people of Zone 3 for reciprocating our efforts to bring development to the area by ensuring that peace prevails.

“This is a clear demonstration of our commitment to inclusive governance and equitable development,” .

Sani pointed out the significance of culture in shaping identities and values, stating that “Our cultural heritage is the foundation upon which we build our progress, and it is our responsibility to preserve it for future generations.”

Sani went further to point out some of the transformative projects his administration has undertaken in the past 18 months, including infrastructure development, agricultural support, education, youth empowerment, and healthcare.

He also said his administration has recorded significant progress in the construction of roads, including the 22.5km Road from Gwantu to Godogodo and the 21.95km Road from Madauchi to Kafanchan.

According to the governor:, “We are committed to the massive transformation of rural communities, recognising the immense potential that lies within them.

“We believe that by empowering rural communities, we can unlock the secrets to sustainable development, economic growth, and social prosperity.

“We have also installed 200 units of All-in-One Solar Street Lights across various local governments in Zone 3, illuminating our streets and enhancing safety for all.”

Sani also disclosed plans to convert the Sir Patrick Yakowa General Hospital, Kafanchan, to a Federal Medical Center, which would serve the diverse population spanning several Local Government Areas and neighbouring states of Plateau, Niger as well as the FCT.

“Upgrading it to a Federal Medical Centre will greatly improve healthcare accessibility, strengthen tertiary healthcare delivery, and provide opportunities for advanced medical training and research in the area,” he said.

The event was attended by Governors Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang and Senator Douye Diri of Plateau and Bayelsa states, respectively, who praised Sani’s efforts in promoting peace and development in Southern Kaduna.

FCNN gathered that the Southern Kaduna Festival featured cultural dances from the several tribes of Southern Kaduna, showcasing the region’s rich cultural heritage.
