Kebbi govt receives 1000 cattle semen from Indonesia

A total of 1,000 cattle semen from the Indonesian Government have been received by the Kebbi state government to enhance a boost livestock production in the state.
The Deputy Governor, of the state, Senator Umar Abubakar Tafida, made this disclosure on Friday while receiving the Indonesian Ambassador to Nigeria, Dr. Usra Hendra Harahap, and a team of experts from Indonesia who were in the state for a 3-day visit.
Tafida, stated that the donation is a significant milestone in the bilateral relations between Kebbi State and Indonesia. It is expected to improve agriculture and livestock development, particularly in the area of artificial insemination.
Tafida added that the Indonesian Government also sponsored the training of Veterinary Doctors from Kebbi State in Indonesia, stating that the cooperation marks the beginning of a fruitful partnership between Kebbi State and Indonesia.
Senator Umar Tafida noted that Kebbi State was already the highest producer of rice and wheat in Nigeria, with vast agricultural land stretching along River Rima for all seasons farming. He expressed optimism that the cooperation between the two parties would further strengthen economic and cultural ties between the two nations.
He assured the Indonesian team of the state government’s readiness to provide all necessary support to ensure the success of the training on artificial insemination to boost meat and milk production in the State.
Senator Umar Tafida emphasized that the knowledge to be imparted on artificial insemination would be greatly beneficial to the people of the state. He thanked the Indonesian Government for the good reception accorded Governor Nasir Idris during his Visit to that country.
The Indonesian Ambassador to Nigeria, Dr. Usra Hendra Harahap, stated that their visit to Kebbi State aimed to strengthen collaboration between the Indonesian Government and Kebbi State in areas such as agriculture, livestock development, and the training of veterinary doctors on artificial insemination.
Dr. Harahap noted that artificial insemination plays a vital role in livestock productions and enhancement of agricultural productivity.
The event also featured the presentation of big-fish and fulani traditional gifts to the Indonesian Ambassador by the State Deputy Governor.
