Major APC Stalwarts, including Fayemi ,Aregbesola, Poised to Join SDP Ahead of 2027

In a significant political shake-up, several founding members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) are reportedly preparing to leave the party for the Social Democratic Party (SDP).

Among those expected to make the switch are former Ekiti State Governor Kayode Fayemi, ex-Osun State Governor Rauf Aregbesola, former Attorney General Abubakar Malami, and ex-APC chairman Abdullahi Adamu, among others.

This development comes shortly after former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai officially joined the SDP earlier today.

While the precise motivations behind their defection remain uncertain, sources suggest it is part of a broader strategy to form a strong opposition coalition against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 elections.
