Nigeria Customs Generates ₦3.7 Trillion in H1 2025, Records 25% Growth Amid Reform Drive
The Federal Government has announced that the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) generated ₦3.7 trillion in the first half of 2025, surpassing revenue projections and outperforming last year’s figures.
Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun, revealed this during the 62nd meeting of the NCS Board in Abuja. According to him, the revenue haul represents a 12.5 percent increase above budget expectations and a 25 percent rise compared to the same period in 2024.
While commending the performance of the Customs Service, Edun emphasized the need for deeper reforms to meet the administration’s ambitious revenue goals.
“The National Single Window will give Customs the speed and capacity to process trade more effectively, boosting revenue and positioning Nigeria as a more attractive hub for investment,” Edun stated.

He explained that the National Single Window Initiative—set for full rollout in 2026—is central to trade reform efforts. The platform, designed to streamline import and export processes, will cut costs, eliminate delays, and improve competitiveness, thereby enhancing the ease of doing business for the private sector.
Edun further noted that the ongoing reforms align with President Bola Tinubu’s broader economic strategy, which seeks to stabilize inflation and exchange rates while building a transparent, technology-driven trade system that attracts investment and drives growth.
At the meeting, the NCS Board also confirmed governance improvements within the Service, including senior appointments and promotions aimed at strengthening professionalism and institutional capacity.
